Tickets for the 2019 Gala, "Musical Elements," are on sale now! Early bird pricing ends April 19, 2019.
2019’s gala theme is Musical Elements. Just like the music we create, our musicians and ensembles are made up of unique, diverse parts that come together to create a beautiful whole.
We are dynamic. Our musicians range from recent grads to retirees, old hands at their instruments and just coming back after a long hiatus. We are executives, clerks, scientists, engineers, students, lawyers, homemakers, and teachers.
We set the tone. We are enthusiastic - and passionate - about making great music.
We're speeding up the tempo. We've expanded in the last five years from one to three orchestras and over 300 musicians.
We are in harmony. We are focused on supporting a rich amateur musical community.
At our previous galas, we watched twilight descend over the city from the balcony while enjoying drinks and hors d'oeuvres complemented by chamber music. In 2018 we welcomed keynote speaker Michael Morgan, Music Director of the Oakland Symphony, to speak about the importance of music in building culture and community. We had live and silent auctions in support of several key initiatives for our upcoming seasons. Photos from previous galas:
