Making Music, Building community

Our 2018 gala theme is Making Music, Building Community. Music can bring us all together. New musicians, musicians returning to their instrument after many years, veteran players, long-time classical music lovers as well as music newbies - the San Francisco Civic Music Association forms a community with our audience centered around local, accessible musical concerts and opportunities. Our community is diverse in every way - age, ethnicity, geography, politics, religions, socio-economic status, and musical ability. That's the kind of thing that makes a community strong. Thank you for joining us in an evening of making music and building community.

Previous Galas

The 2017 gala was the largest and most successful to date, featuring a new venue, the War Memorial Green Room in San Francisco. We watched twilight descend over the city from the balcony, we enjoyed drinks and hors d'oeuvres complemented by chamber music. Over dinner and dessert, we welcomed our keynote speaker, pianist Daniel Glover. Daniel was the featured soloist for the Summer 2017 Civic Symphony concert. We had live and silent auctions in support of several key initiatives for our upcoming seasons.
