The San Francisco Civic Music Association is dedicated to offering numerous opportunities for classical music lovers and amateur musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our ensembles are open to all musicians and our concerts are free and available to the public. Help support us as we work to continuously expand our work in the city!

Please join us for this year's Summer Workshop.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, starting July 5th. 6:45pm - 9pm.
Location: African American Art & Culture Complex, 762 Fulton St., SF

The string orchestra summer workshop provides amateur musicians with little or no symphony experience a chance to explore music from "inside" an orchestra.  Most of our players from previous years were working adults who joined because they wanted to recapture something they've set aside in an ensemble in a fun and supportive setting.  More experienced string players are always available to provide support, which makes for an enjoyable, low pressure, fun collaborative and learning experience. The Workshop culminates with an informal concert at the end of the seven week session.

We request a donation of $50 per member, but no one is turned away for lack of funds.

Strauss – Blue Danube Waltz
Beethoven – Egmont Overture
Grieg – In the Hall of the Mountain King
Saint-Saëns – Dance Macabre
